Vintage, Antique & Decorative Pieces

Thoughtfully Reclaimed

New collections released fortnightly

Ames Reclaims is an independent shop sourcing antiques and vintage from across the centuries. The collection is shaped by a love of natural materials, useful objects and pieces with a story to tell — weathered wood, studio pottery, stoneware and things that have been handled, repaired and cherished over time.

Everything is sourced by hand and thoughtfully reclaimed, cleaned or restored. If someone took the time to make it, it deserves the chance to be used and appreciated for as long as possible. Signs of age, patina and imperfections are encouraged. The stranger the better.

Vintage Mannequin Torso – Industrial Artist's Display Form
£55.00

A striking mannequin torso dating from the late 20th century, finished in a heavily distressed verdigris-style surface that gives it the appearance of aged bronze or weathered copper. Originally created as a display form, it has long since crossed the line from practical object to decorative sculpture.

The surface itself. Layers of turquoise, green and oxidised tones sit over a textured ground lightweight polystyrene.

The origions of this piece are unknown but that doesnt take away from how beautifully it can dress an area with just its presence and noting else.

Height: 75cm

Width: 40cm

Depth: 22cm

Italian Alabaster Bookends, c.1960s
£45.00

A sculptural pair of Italian alabaster bookends dating from the mid-20th century, carved with an elegant organic form that looks between a nautilus shell and a breaking wave.

The stone itself. Soft creams, honeyed tones and mossy green veining run through the alabaster. Turn them slightly and the pattern changes entirely.

These decorative and practical objects found their way into stylish sitting rooms and studies during the 1960s and 70s, when Italian stone carving enjoyed a resurgence alongside the growing popularity of modernist interiors.

Equally happy holding a collection of well-thumbed books or standing alone as sculptural pieces on a shelf.

Width: 8cm

Height: 14cm

Weight: 2kg
